Leah Abir

Leah Abir is a Tel Aviv-based curator and writer in the field of contemporary art. Since 2007 she has been curating exhibitions and organizing art-related events throughout the world, in public and private venues, in public and alternative spaces.

Until recently she was the curator at RawArt Gallery in Tel Aviv (2015-2019). Among her previous engagements: Curator of the Haifa Museum of Art, Associate Curator and Head of Programming at MoBY- Museums of Bat Yam, and as Artistic Consultant for the Artists' Studios in Jerusalem. She was the first recipient, In 2011, of the Artis Grant for curators in Israel, and worked as a Curatorial Fellow at the public art organization Creative Time, NYC.

Abir is a graduate of Art History and Advanced Museology studies at Tel Aviv University and has studied for a Master's degree from Haifa University. She published extensively in various publications and catalogues in Israel and around the world, and in recent years taught history and theory of art and curating at various academic institutions, such as Bezalel Academy and the Curating Studies program of the Technion in Tel Aviv.
