David Ruebain

David Ruebain is a consultant in equality, diversity and inclusion and in disability law, policy and practice. He was a specialist equality lawyer for 21 years; first at Levenes Solicitors and then Director of Legal Policy at the British Equality & Human Rights Commission, and was an European Union Short-Term Expert to the Israeli Equal Employment Opportunities Commission. Subsequently, he was Chief Executive of the Conservatoire for Dance and Drama and of Equality Challenge Unit, a policy and research agency funded to advance equality & diversity in the UK higher education sector. David is a Visiting Professor of Law at Birkbeck College University of London and an equality adviser to the English FA Premier League. He has published widely and taught nationally and internationally. most recently co-presenting colloquia with Yates Norton at the Institute of Contemporary Arts and the Serpentine Gallery in London, Rupert and the National Gallery of Lithuania in Vilnius, and at Cambridge and Reading Universities; on Disability, Inter-Dependence and Allyship.
