Orit Bulgaru, Ph.D.
Curator, lecturer, and researcher. From 2007 and on, curated exhibitions in public and private institutions, amongst them the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, and the the Artists' Studios in Jerusalem. Bulgaru has served as curator at the Haifa Museum of Art, MoBY (Museums of Bat Yam) and the Shpilman Institute of Photography, where she was in charge of research, strategic planning, education, and programming for the public.
Bulgaru has graduated from "Hamidrasha" School of Art, Beit Berl College, and earned a Master's degree and Ph.D. at Bar Ilan University's Program for Hermeneutics and Cultural Studies. Her doctoral dissertation explored photography in relation to memory, tourism, history, and the Sublime. Bulgaru has attended various conferences in Israel and abroad and her essays appeared in various catalogs; she teaches history and art theory in HIT (Holon Institute of Technology), the Kibbutzim College of Education Technology and the Arts, and at Oranim college.
