Tamar Getter is an artist and a lecturer at Bezalel Academy of Art in Jerusalem. She studied art with artist Rafi Lavie and at the Midrasha Academy of Art-Beit Berl, as well as getting a BA in literary theory from the Tel Aviv University. She has had many solo and group shows, in Israel and abroad at, among others, the Israel Museum, the Kunsthalle in Düsseldorf, the Museum of Modern Art in Oslo, Frankfurter Kunstverein, the Carmelite monastery, the Haifa Museum, and the Mishkan in Ein Harod. In 1982 She represented Israel at the biennale in Venice, along with Michal Na'aman. In 2010 She had a retrospective of her work at the Tel Aviv Museum. In 2014 she published Slingshot: Stories (Resling).
